We are friends from Maine who set out to create a site that keeps everyone informed of the happenings in their area at any given moment. eventtap was created as a way to help people (like us) never be bored again. Our goal is to be a convenient, free resource to help people find things to do around their town.This site is currently maintained by one person- and he could use some help! How are events generated on the site?
We use a combination of web data extraction and user submitted events, although the highest quality events come from our users.
How do I add an event?
eventtap is simple by design, so adding an event is easy. If you haven't already, click the 'Register' button on the upper right corner of the screen and create an account. Login using the login link in the upper right corner. After logged in, click "Add An Event" which takes you to the "Add Event" page. There are two types of events:
Events with a specific time/date
Activities and things you can do any time
These events appear under "other things to do" and are there for 365 days max
What kinds of events can I add?
Some events you might add include open mic nights, concerts, fundraisers, comedy nights, art exhibits, fairs, local activities, food and drink specials, shows, yard sales- even tv and radio events. At eventtap, it's your call.
How can I add additional dates if my event happens more than once?
If your event happens more than once, click "This event repeats" and follow the on screen instructions. You can also specify a date when you want the event to stop repeating.
How can I edit/delete an event?
If you are logged in, an 'Edit' and a 'Delete' link will appear at the bottom of events you created. Just click these links to edit/delete any time you see your event, or go to your My Events page to view all the events you posted. Our 'Delete' link is currently set to one click, so make sure you positively want to delete the event before clicking on it.
Static events can be edited by going to My Static Events, which is linked to from your My Events page if you created any.
How can I edit my account information like password, eventtap URL, or email?
You can easily edit all your account information by going to the My Account page.
